CATLINK BAYMAX Smart Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box

The CATLINK Baymax is compatible with most clumping cat litters. It is generally recommended to use tofu, clay, or mixed litter (clay + tofu) with particle sizes under 13 mm to ensure proper sifting performance.
Due to the limited size of the filter grid, we do not recommend using pure tofu or long-strip tofu cat litter with our litter boxes, as the system may not effectively filter these types.

Litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets are not compatible with CATLINK litter boxes, as they can interfere with the sifting process.

No, CATLINK Baymax does not require any specific waste drawer bags or liners. You can use any that fit properly.
If you prefer a no-fuss option, you can check out our custom-fit waste drawer liners, available in various pack sizes. Some liners are also included free with each Baymax.

CATLINK’s litter boxes are suitable for cats weighing between 3 lbs 8 oz and 22 lbs (1.58 kg – 10 kg). Kittens can start using CATLINK litter boxes once they are at least 3 months old and weigh a minimum of 3 lbs 8 oz.

Before they meet these criteria, we recommend setting the litter box to manual cleaning mode.

Always place the Baymax on a firm, level surface. Avoid soft, uneven, or unstable flooring, as this may affect the unit’s ability to detect your cat and the accuracy of the weight readings.

This depends largely on your cat’s eating and toileting habits. Typically, for a single cat, you may receive a full waste drawer reminder within 15 days. However, it is generally recommended to empty the drawer every 7–11 days.
During warmer weather, it’s best to clean it more frequently to maintain hygiene and ensure your cat stays healthy.

Baymax includes a smart deodoriser that uses CATLINK Deodorization Hydrogel to help neutralise unpleasant odours and keep the litter box area fresh.

If you continue to notice odours after emptying the waste drawer, we recommend replacing all the litter, giving the Baymax a thorough clean, and replacing the CATLINK Deodorization Hydrogel when needed.

It’s best to regularly monitor the litter level and top it up promptly when it gets low.
By observing your cat’s toileting and eating patterns, you can estimate when to add more litter. Typically, for cats using the box frequently, topping up every two to three days helps maintain an ideal amount. The exact frequency will vary depending on your cat’s individual habits.

Here are a few tips to help your cat adjust to the new litter box:

1. Making the switch:
Set the device to Manual mode and manually clean the litter box about seven minutes after your cat uses it. Avoid startling your cat during the adjustment period.

2. Treats, toys, or catnip:
If your cat is hesitant to enter the litter box, place treats, toys, or catnip near the entrance. You can also gently guide your cat inside when it’s about to use the box and engage it with its favourite toys. This may take several attempts, so patience and consistency are key.

3. Make the old litter box less appealing:
Do not remove the old litter box immediately. Use both the old and new boxes simultaneously, gradually allowing waste to accumulate in the old one. Cats prefer a clean toilet area, so this will encourage them to use the Baymax. Combining this with tip #2 is often effective.

4. Leverage familiar scents:
Gradually move the old litter box closer to the CATLINK Baymax. Add a small scoop of used litter
from the old box into the new one so it smells familiar to your cat. You can combine this with the previous tips and eventually remove the old litter box once your cat is comfortable.

Create a positive experience by offering praise, reassurance, and patience. Once your cat is fully accustomed, you can switch the Baymax to any mode you prefer.
